Context
This 3-hectare plot was populated by fir trees that have suffered from the summer droughts of the last few years. Weakened, the fir trees were later attacked by bark beetles, beetles that feed on wood. This tree planting project will help restore a healthy forest ecosystem. The selected species will resist bark beetle attacks and drought. Several associations of trees will be planted: this will make it possible to welcome a great biodiversity thanks in particular to the presence of deciduous trees such as maple and linden. This stand will also make it possible to store significant quantities of carbon.
