Project description

In the heart of Navarre, not far from Pamplona, we invite you to plant scots pines on a poor plot.

The project at a glance :

  • Number of trees to plant: about 4200 
  • Planting area: about 3.5 hectares 
  • Species planted: scots pine 
  • Type of project: enrichment of a poor settlement

Context :

This plantation takes place in Navarre, Basque territory, a mountainous region at the eastern end of the Pyrenean range. This land has a steep slope ranging from 30 to 55% and is very rocky. This makes the development of a forest ecosystem very difficult!

The plantation will enrich a parcel which currently has some hardwoods badly adapted to the station. The operation will energize the few beautiful hardwood individuals, they will be able to develop and reproduce in a better environment. 

The scots pines installed will be perfectly adapted to the climate of the region and its soil structure. Their growth will allow to obtain quickly a true forest ecosystem !
