SRO Motosports

The TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa race, acknowledged as the global pinnacle in long-distance GT racing, has been taking place at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, since 1924.

 

Committed to reduce the event’s carbon emissions, we have implemented several environmental measures for its 2022 edition. 

 

As a further step towards environmental protection, we are supporting the planting of 2050 trees in the Ouhar area in Belgium, helping sustain a heritage forest area of high biological interest.

Description

With three decades’ experience at the forefront of a continuously evolving industry, SRO Motorsports Group is the established global leader in GT racing. A busy 2022 season will see events staged under the SRO banner on five continents, highlighted by the prestigious TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

The headline race of Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS and Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli is scheduled for 28-31 July. The 2022 edition will represent the 74th running, promising to be another memorable Belgian endurance classic.

Not far from the Spa Francorchamps circuit, the Ouhar area is a location with high biological interest. This special forest area is part of Natura 2000, a network of nature protection areas which brings together natural or semi-natural sites in the European Union with great heritage, due to the exceptional fauna and flora they contain.

The Wallon forest at Ouhar was attacked by the chalarose disease, whose spread caused dying of the trees, and the area needed reforestation. SRO Motorsports Group helped with the planting of five diversified tree species in the spring of 2022: sessile oak, pedunculate oak, cherry, alder and apple trees, in that way restoring the forest area and aiding the complete eco system at the site.
