Since June, Reforest’Action plants trees in Guinea-Conakry alongside RENASCEDD, a Guinean NGO. More than 4 000 mangrove trees have already been planted on the ground. Discover pictures of the plantation!
During the month of June, 4 125 mangrove trees have been planted near Boffa in Guinea-Conakry by our technical partner on the ground, RENASCEDD, in order to restore the coastal mangrove.
A communal diagnostic was realized upstream by the NGO to define the specific needs of local communities. Mangrove reforestation and the plantation of fruit trees were determined as primary in order to ensure the villagers' food safety.
Essential trees in the intertropical regions, the mangrove trees planted thanks to the financing of the Reforest'Actors will help the fight against raising water by retaining coastal soils and will produce wood for construction and heating.
The monitoring of the growth of the young seedlings will be done by local communities, with the technical help of RENASCEDD.
